IMPORTING A CAR
Every country has different laws and regulations regarding importing a car. We move customers to almost every country internationally, and can help you with the laws and regulations of your destination. There are some countries that don't allow importing a car at all, but for those that do, here are some of the common requirements:
- A valid registration from country of residence
- If the customer lives in the European Union (EU), he or she must file a private motor vehicle and motorcycle tax (BPM) declaration
- If the customer lives outside the EU, a Customs declaration must be made and a BPM return must be filed
- Passport
- The Bill of Lading
- Proof of ownership
- Receipt of purchase
- Manufacture date, make, model name, serial number, chassis number and engine number
- Cubic engine capacity and number of cylinders
- Whether it is petrol or diesel and left or right hand drive
- Description of the body, the price and the odometer reading
- Any extra or special features
- Customer's presence at Customs Clearance may be required
- Registration papers and title
- Police certificate or registration
- Insurance policy
- Original purchase invoice
